The first lesson with Jay, I shared with him my reason for engaging a Persoanl Trainer, which is to better fit into a dress which I'd bought for a wedding dinner just 2 months away. I told him I needed to lose 1 inch off my waist. I asked him what was his success rate, and he told me, "200%". I was really very skeptical about it. However, in less than 2 months, I really did see a loss of 1 inch off the waist. When my best friend saw me for the first time one month after I started training with Jay, she exclaimed that I looked like I've shrunk about 2 sizes! I was so happy about it!

I was a naturally lazy person when it came to exercise and working out. I wanted to get in better shape by losing weight and getting some muscle toned and so started working out with Darren at Le Meridian gym, Singapore from August 2008 onwards.My experience with Darren has been extremely rewarding to say the least. Hi Dan… On our 2nd last sms…you wrote…“Haha. Great to know that you are prepared to train hard”.
When we met…you took my % body fat readings thrice and each time there was no reading a.k.a error on the digital screen. Dan…I saw the shock on your face. You took your own reading and Jay’s and it worked miraculously. Haha… Wow! I was totally embarrassed. That was me at 71.4kg and haha…. more than 40% body fat as of the 12 Nov 2007. That was due to my undying love for refine carb…the yummy pizza. Lord!
The last training with Jay on 23 May 2008, I weigh 51.3kg, body fat 23.9%, BMI 21.1. As of 1st Aug 2008 at 47.8kg, I am targeting 45kg towards a 16% body fat...aka…a bikini body before Christmas 2008. All the above said… I could have not done it without Jay.

On one of the training session…Monday blues struck me. When I stepped on the weighing scale, I was very upset with myself because over the weekend my caloric intake was for maintenance not weight loss and oh my Lord…I gained 300g instead…wishing the 300g weight gain was from water retention instead and deeply regretted not taking enough psyllium husk.
Had Jillian from the Biggest Loser be my trainer, she would have reprimanded, screamed and instructing more cardio for me. However Jay is totally the opposite. In confidence Jay said “Sofia…I promise…I will take that away from you by friday”.
At 7.10am, I was half dead…haha…even before attempting the 200lb leg press and looked at Jay and said in much disbelief. ”Really…Jay?” At that instant…that 300g increased in weight just melted away and psychologically I felt much lighter in years. That is how magical Jay is… even my belly dance
shimmy improved with gym training.
Dan and Jay…what I want to really say is… You guys breathing and living a body building life. I am proud to say that body fat, lean muscle and nutrition makes more sense to me rather than obsessing on BMI and weight. “Whatever your fitness goals are, other than making it come true, Jay makes it simple, easy and fun too”. When I first started weight training in 2001, I said “I want my body back! I want to shed 10 kgs!”. I was a 63.4 kg fatso conquered by 36% of fat invaders. I detested looking at mirrors.
Now, I am able to look at and admire myself in front of the mirror again. I have regained my self-confidence and this wonderful feeling is a result of careful dieting, engaging a dedicated and motivating Personal Trainer and putting plenty of effort and determination in my weight training. I have lost 7.4 kg and my fat % has been reduced to 27.5%. I started training with Patrick Foo at The Legends Fort Canning Park gym from October 2003. Each training session lasts around 1 hour to 1.5 hours once a week.
My goal was to reduce my weight from 88 kg to 75 kg. With Patrick's training and a sensible diet plan, I was able to reduce my weight to 80 kg within 10 weeks of training with him. This would not be possible without my training sessions with Patrick.
Patrick is a polite and conscious instructor, always placing safety and safe training as a priority. I used to be 73 kg before I meet Dennis, he give me motivation and let me set my dream goal.3 years ago as a mother of 1 and sadly overweight - I was unfit and out-of-shape but found it hard to get back into exercising - something I've done on and off over the years but have never been able to keep up for an extended period of time.
Now, instead of something I should do, my training sessions are something I look forward to and derive a great sense of achievement from. It is fun, personal and most importantly, I can see and feel how my body is changing for the better.
Dennis has worked out a programme suited to my specific needs and goals and keeps adding to it as I progress and to keep it interesting. he has also helped me with nutritional advice and guidance on my out of gym training sessions to keep me motivated and challenge me.

Before I met Darren, I'd never really given much thought to exercise, training, fitness, or my eating habits. Darren told me that my life could change with exercise and working-out - if I wanted it to. Wow - was that an understatement! It takes a hell of a lot to get me out of bed and into the gym at 10 am in the morning twice a week – and believe me I haven't missed a single session with him since I first started training with him in 2004. I feel more physically fit now than I did in my teens and early 20s and am totally enjoying leading a healthier and physically fit lifestyle.
Darren is a fantastic trainer for lots of reasons, the most important being his infectious enthusiasm and support. I have approach Dennis in 2005 and taken his weight Training programme. . Under his supervise, I have made large vast of improvements throughout the years in this sport and have enabled me to represent Singapore on a couple of occasions. Without him, I would not have made the improvements and achievements today.
He always coaches with patience and fun in it. He is always willing to teach and share from his vast knowledge of training and fitness. As a bodybuilder himself, his specialized skills are hypertrophy for muscle gains and fat loss when preparing for competitions. Darren is an excellent personal trainer. Just look at him! Wouldn't you be inspired? My original goals were to establish an exercise routine, lose weight and tone up some muscles. Having never worked out a day in my entire life before meeting Darren……he certainly had his work cut out for him! Within 6 months of working out with Darren on a bi weekly basis, I dropped 8 kilos and felt stronger and more energized. Our workout routine was an interesting balance of weights and cardio boxing. As an experienced trainer and bodybuilder himself, Dennis got me started by introducing me to the proper training techniques and the right diet. Under his guidance, I was able to make remarkable progress and even won a silver medal in the Pesta Sukan Bodybuilding Championship after a year of training.
Throughout these few years, I was impressed by Dennis as he is able to design different training and dieting programmes that fix my lifestyle. I for sure have benefit greatly from him . He is also been a great trainer as he always have ways to make me yield for maximum results from my workouts. Before that, I have been a member of Fitness Network for close to two years, and have been a frequent gym-goer. Like most girls, my workout program includes no more than just jogging on the thread-mill, using the stepper and the cross-trainer machine. Weights training was usually minimal because like most girls, I had the mis-conception that weights training will make me bulkier, and thus the tendency to avoid it.
Patrick was, at that time, not assigned as my fitness instructor. Yet he took the initiative and patience to instil the right concept about weights training into me, and encourage me to include weights training in my fitness program to achieve my target of a more well-toned physique. His professionalism and his in-depth knowledge about fitness prompted me to take on his advice. He became my instructor and planned a series of exercises to help me achieve my workout objective. He exercised great patience in guiding me through the exercises to ensure that they were done properly and safely so as to achieve the best results. He was also very motivating, giving a lot of encouragement that I especially appreciated during the initial stage of the workout. Another strong point of him which I think is highly commendable, is that he is well-versed in formulating a variety of exercises for each muscle group. This has helped to make my workout more interesting as I am able to switch between different workout program.
Besides his professionalism and knowledge in fitness, Patrick has the additional edge in that he is sociable and is thus able to establish personal touch with his members. This has helped him in knowing them better, especially in terms of their workout objective, and hence able to plan more effective training programs for them.
In just three months, I saw myself becoming more well-toned than ever before in the past two years. I'm now more confident in my physique, and I'm really grateful to Patrick for his great workout program. When I first started working out in a gym back in 2000 all I did was endless hours on cardio machines. Even though I managed to lose some weight, my body was not svelte nor toned. My weight was always in a yo-yo state, mainly due to my inconsistent diet which only comprised of fruits and vegetables. 'It was early May 2008…I was frustrated, angry and not motivated….
I had reached a wall in my gyming routine, and wanted to get a personal trainer to achieve my fitness goals. I started surfing the net and came across the Personal Trainers Singapore website. I called them and signed up within 24 hrs :)
To say that Tze Khit is an extremely good trainer is an understatement. He is more – much much more than that!! Extremely professional, friendly, competent, knowledgeable and I could go on… He goes the extra mile to make you feel good and is always there to give then extra push just when you feel you can’t do it anymore. His sessions are very engaging and as much I don’t like some exercises I have started enjoying them - well some of them at least.
It’s been about 6-7 weeks now since I started and I feel GREAT about myself. Ffriends, colleagues, etc have noticed the change in body size and it makes me feel good. I have a long way to go, but I would not have been able to do it without a great trainer like Tze Khit!

I trained with Darren 3 times a week for almost 3 years until I had to move back to the UK. At the outset, regular gym attendance did not come naturally to me: I found the places intimidating and lacked any real goals or means to achieve them. I was enthusiastic, but on my own had no chance of sustaining a training program.
Darren provided so much. His friendly manner made me feel welcome and at ease in the gym. And the professionalism with which he established targets with me and then set a program to achieve them gave me huge confidence. Each session was pre-planned so that time wasn't wasted and the exercises properly targeted. He introduced each exercise with careful explanation, a gentle start and an unbending insistence on form so that I never had the chance of developing the bad habits that might otherwise have lead to injury.
However, he wasn't always nice – once the introductions were over and the lessons learned he pushed me - and then some. As a consequence I covered ground in those sessions that I wouldn't have believed possible. Never aggressive, he had a way of knowing what I could do even if I did not believe it myself and of giving me the confidence to achieve what seemed outrageous.
It is a huge tribute to Darren that over the years of guiding me to the very edges of my capacity I never once sustained an injury. And how I looked forward to the sessions! Patrick was introduced to me in June/July this year when I moved to Singapore for my employment as Regional General Manager for Burger King Asia Pacific. He was referred to me as a great Personal Trainer who could cause the right amount of pain as I continued to improve my fitness. How wrong this recommendation turned out to be!
I am 57 years of age and have had a number of sports injuries. I have worked out regularly for about 13 years. When I arrived in Singapore I had had a recent operation on my knee, had a sore right shoulder that would not allow me to swim for more than about 25 meters and wanted to restart playing golf after an absence of about 2.5 years of regular play.
I commenced a programme with Patrick to work on my overall physical health.
What impressed me about Patrick was the depth that he went to, to understand my body and interests and devise a programme to build my strength and remedy the injury to my knee. He always asked about the input from my physiotherapist and would adjust programmes to suit my treatment I was receiving. He had amazing knowledge about physiology.
The results of the programme over these last 6 months have been outstanding:

Dennis has been providing me with coaching and dieting advice for more than four years. As an experienced trainer and bodybuilder, he got me started by introducing me to the proper training techniques and the right diet.
I have always been able to run and keep relatively fit, but my real weakness was upper body strength and toning back. I called on Dennis to help me with this area where I really struggled, lifting weights would make me feel physically sick back then, therefore I gave up easily! Without Darren I would not be as fit and healthy as I am now. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a few years' ago and at the time was unable to do any real exercise as I would suffer from debilitating headaches and muscle pain. But Darren was determined that I should be able to exercise on a regular basis and therefore improve my overall fitness and ability to cope. He researched the background to my condition and tailor made a programme and allowed me to moan and groan and say 'enough' when I knew that my body couldn't take any more. Progress was gradual to begin with but the important thing was that I was able to stick to the programme and am now fitter than I have been for years!!

Wellington here. I'm writing in to express my gratitude for being my pt! Around 2005, while I was in the army, I lost a considerable amount of weight. After a month of weight training with Tze Khit, I have experienced significant improvement in strength and stamina as well as lost some unwanted weight. Tze Khit has been my personal trainer for the past 2 months. 3 days a week he will meet up with me to give me proper weight training instructions. Knowing that my main concern is to reduce my weight, Tze Khit personally prepared a food menu for me. It has been two months since I have started training with Tze Khit and it has definitely been a very enjoyable and beneficial experience despite all the pain that this guy has put me through. (haha) Tze Khit is a very professional trainer, with a lot of knowledge and insite into physical training. The first thing he gets you to do is tell him what goals you have for your body, and he uses these goals to develop a programme for both your workout in the gym as well as for your diet and nutrition at home. He is very focussed on what he has you working toward and in doing so guarantees results.
Tze Khit gives you a very solid techinique in the exercises that he has you doing, as the first few sessions is spent on trying to get your form perfect. I believe this is very important as it prevents injuries to the body which is probably the worse thing that can happen after starting to go to the gym (both for you and the trainer’s rep.) When this is done, the weights then start piling on. I should make it clear that Tze Khit does not take it easy on you, neither does he push you over the edge, theres always that balance that he maintains to ensure that the body can recover in time for the next session. He is always there to give you motivation and push you to achieve your potential. Every session, the weights get heavier, ensuring progress toward what you are aiming for. Any question that I throw at Tze Khit is always answered in detail and often he goes beyond what he needs to tell you. For example if you asked him what thisparticular exercise is good for, he answers the question and helps you understand by demonstating which muscles you are activating. Also he elaborates on the different variations of the exercise that could be done. After the gym session you are always cursing Tze Khit for the soreness of your muscles and for all the energy that hes drained from you, but in the end when you start seeing the results you would love him for it.
Within this two months of training with Tze Khit, I have certainly felt myself growing bigger and stronger as each session passed. I’m also receiving comments on how I look bigger than I was just two months ago. My knowledge of weight lifting has increased, not only in the area of how to build up muscles, but also in the areas of nutrition and prevention of injury. When training with Tze Khit, you do not need to worry whether the results will come, all you need to do is listen to his advice and before you know it you will see yourself getting closer towards your target.

Time flies. I'm extremely happy with the workouts and the way things are going so far.
I knew that without the guidance of a personal trainer, based on my past experience, I would not likely develop and continue to pursue good fitness habits.
Regarding the workouts...you push limits and encourage progress during each session. It is great to keep building on the previous workout. I find that my body is getting used to this with less muscle soreness. I also like having you keep track of where I am, what I completed the prior workout and where I need to go next. I appreciate your focus on technique. You monitor where my back is and whether or not my arms are tucked etc. Knowing that you have the training and expertise backed up by actual experience leads to a feeling of security that gives me confidence to continue to push and improve my skills.

"I have been training for Tze Khit for a month. This is my first time using a personal trainer. The best part about training with TK is that I get to do it in the convenience of my home. Juggling family and work leaves me with little time to run to the gym and back. TK has all the requisite equipment to give me a complete workout. I like that he often varies the sessions so that training does not get monotonous. He is also constantly thinking about new equipment and new exercises for his clients. "I have known Sandy since 1998, when he began working for me at my health club and fitness center, Valencia Street Muscle & Fitness, at 333 Valencia Street in San Francisco, California, 94103. He was a dependable and reliable employee and extremely popular with all the members. On October 30, 1999, Sandy showed me one of the greatest individual efforts in sport that I have ever seen. On that day and night he set the World Record for Inline Skating for distance in 24 hours, going 509.7 kilometers (315.58 miles).
This was a very inspirational and determined effort, Sandy kept going and going and going, after other challengers had dropped out and all the spectators had gone home to sleep. I too had left and returned for the final hours and was absolutely elated to first hear and then see Sandy skating on and on until he broke the record. It was an awesome athletic feat of endurance, strength, power, skill, and determination.
I just wanted to briefly let you know about Sandy Snakenberg. He is a person, athlete, and coach of the highest level."

"Sandy Snakenberg coached me for two and a half years before my overseas job posting. When I took up his course, I had wanted to get the right grounding in athletic training, having trained casually and haphazardly on my own for some years. I found Sandy to be very competent in his training methods, not only in terms of prescribing the latest training techniques, but more importantly, in knowing how to adapt training techniques to individuals’ needs. I’m not sure how to advise someone or an institution looking for a coach. In Singapore, we usually look for paper qualification. In coaching, however, experience and adaptability, I believe, are the most important qualities. There is no use having someone who knows the textbook way of doing things, and insists on doing it that way, when the people they are supposed to help get injured and ’sacrificed’ because of inexperience and inflexibility. I believe those who have aspirations and dreams deserve a chance to be the best they can be. I would recommend Sandy to anyone who has dreams and aspirations."
